AFRICAN QUEEN

HOZO Dance

Founder and Director Reece Millard came up with this concept from imagery of tribal fashion couture. Then after visiting Uganda, he took inspiration from their culture and even learnt and shared dance moves with a local children's orphanage 'Bwindi Community Orphanage'. This piece really has an authenticity to it, which is always extremely important to HOZO. This piece explores the hierarchy and struggle of power between the tribes of Uganda's Royal Kingdom 'Baganda'.
